Ian Hawkridge BA MSc (Proj Man) MRICS
Managing Director
Ian joined the practice in 1985. Ian is experienced in all aspects of project management, construction management and quantity surveying for a wide range of projects. His experience is underpinned by appropriate academic qualifications. His particular partnership responsibilities are financial and legal matters.
In addition to accompanying Ian on the Coast to Coast routes on foot and on a bike, Ian enjoys scuba diving, squash, bridge and most activities that are outdoors and/or dangerous

Steve Downing BSc MRICS
Steve joined the practice in 1988. He has extensive experience on a variety of projects in all aspects of quantity surveying and the role of employer’s agent.
Steve’s interests generally involve appreciation of the "great outdoors" including cycling and walking but nothing too dangerous, with the exception of bird watching

Ian Harvey FRICS MaPS
Ian joined the practice in 1983. Ian is a highly experienced quantity surveyor and, additionally is a registered CDM Co-ordinator.
In recent years, in addition to having completed the Coast to Coast routes across the north of England on foot and on a bike, Ian has organised the DSP Walks and is infamous for his "Harvey" miles. When not long distance walking, Ian may be spotted on horseback or racing his dogs round an agility course.

Simon Bown BSc MRICS
Simon joined the practice in 1997 as a senior surveyor before becoming an associate. Simon has extensive experience of project management for a diverse range of clients.
Simon spends most of his spare time playing in goal for various football teams.

Alex Scarfe BA (Joint Hons) PG Dip Legal Practice
Alex joined DSP in September 2008 as Non-Executive Director. Alex has both a legal and commercial background and has many years at Board level experience.
A life long Colchestrian, he now lives just over the Suffolk border and is active within the local Business and Professional community. Alex enjoys sailing, walking, music, travelling and has a number of classic vehicles.
